A small pup now smiles from ear to ear in the comfort of her new and loving home, thanks to a team of dedicated animal rescuers.
Little Holland fell into the hands of the Trio Animal Foundation in Chicago for urgent medical care after she endured uninhabitable conditions at a "open access" shelter that only accepted abandoned animals.
According to TAF's Facebook post, once the canine arrived, her fur was completely matted and covered her entire body.
"The width of the matted fur on her legs was over two-three inches thick," TAF wrote in the post. "A shell like casing of matted fur covered most of her back and it looked like an exoskeleton from behind."

The post stated that the rescuers decided the best way to remove the hair would be to sedate Holland and transfer her to a veterinarian for surgical grooming.
Other than the dog's unkempt mane, Holland had no other serious medical issues but, unfortunately, lacked emotional stability.
Well, all of that was about to change.
Soon enough, after weeks of treatment and much needed belly rubs, Holland was back and better than ever. Just look at her now!
Holland had even found friendship (or maybe a budding romance) with a handsome therapy dog named Miller.
The adorable tail-wagger has even officially found her forever home. According to the TAF Facebook post, Holland's new mom and dad couldn't be more excited about their new fur baby.
Now the little girl is happier than ever.
