The Game Boy was officially discontinued in the early 2000s, but that didn't stop one developer from making a brand new game for the classic handheld and releasing it this week.

Tobu Tobu Girlcame out for the Game Boy on Sunday, 30 years after the Game Boy first launched. The game, developed by Tangram Games, stars a girl who jumps into the sky, jumps off of birds, and flaps her arms to chase after her cat, which has floated away with a balloon.

The game features an adorable premise, a great art style, and some really catchy music. It would have fit right in with some of the top addictive games of the time.

Because Nintendo discontinued the Game Boy over a decade ago, Tobu Tobu Girldidn't receive the Official Nintendo Seal of Quality. In fact, the physical version of the game was only available in limited orders and is currently sold out.

For those who want to play but couldn't get their hands on a physical version, Tobu Tobu Girlis available to download from the website for a pay-what-you-want amount. It can also be put on a Game Boy flash cart (basically a blank cartridge that you can load games onto) or played through a Game Boy emulator.
